| SKILLS |
It is of interest to consider skills development, over time, and in terms of inter-relationships. This is why I have chosen to use my 6 sections of Openfolio evidence my roots and path as a design researcher.
I write research papers and contribute to books, present seminars and workshops internationally. I am the Head of Academic Research, and I'm involved in the development of research strategy, and School profile. I facilitate Brainstorms and Critical Reviews, and also review and feedback on research papers.

| EXPERIENCE |
My Honour's Degree was in Design For Industry in Northumbria University, back when it was Newcastle Polytechnic.
My Doctorate at Northumbria University was, in short, an investigation of Innovation Psychology.
I was a founding member of the Centre for Design Research, back when it was the Centre for Industrial Design, and I'm now the School of Design's Head of Academic Research.
In terms of industrial experience, beyond that gained in the CfID & CfDR, I was a co-founder of XPD, which became Virdev, part of Express Engineering, in Gateshead. In the time I spent there I worked on a wide range of projects, detailed in the university's Expert Directory. But my focus was on developing approaches to Computer Aided Industrial Design, especially product animation.
